2.         CONCEPT OF THE PROGRAM

The stock market is an electronic market place. Buyers and sellers meet and trade their point of view. Stock market analysis enables investors to identify the intrinsic worth of a security even before investing in it. The study and evaluating past and current data helps investors and traders to gain an edge in the markets to make informed decisions. The purpose of the session was to make students aware about stock market, its functioning, how to invest.

6.         EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

       The speaker Mr.Rithadhama C S started the session with explaining about stock, capital market. A stock is a share in the ownership of a company. Stock represents a claim on the company’s assets and earnings.

Exchanges are simply places where buyers and sellers meet and decide on a price for a stock. Think of it as a flea market where buyers and sellers come together and agree on a price for a product. There are mainly two main stock exchanges in India BSE and NSE.

Speaker explained about how to do online trading, intraday. The term bull and bear also

The Bull – a bull market is when the economy is doing well, the GDP is growing and stock prices are rising. The bull market charges ahead. The Bear – a bear market is when the economy is bad,

recession is looming and stock prices are falling. A bear market hibernates and moves slowly.

The roles of various bodies like SEBI, NSDL, CDSL, Exchanges,Brokers also explained properly. How to invest in stock market, how to read company’s financial statements to know performance of the company, how to do intraday or trading , how to read stock market charts patterns etc. explained properly with example by the speaker. Students asked many questions like candle stick, important ratios to take investment decisions etc and speaker answered all. At the end the certification courses in stock maket and career opportunities in stock market has been properly explained to the students.
